Revolutionizing Wyoming's Trails: How Digital Innovation Streamlined Decal Purchases

Wyoming's great outdoors just got a little easier to access, thanks to a new digital solution implemented by the State of Wyoming's Trails Program. The WYOTrails Portal, developed in collaboration with Servos, has transformed the way outdoor enthusiasts purchase and manage decals for Off-Road Vehicles (ORVs) and Snowmobiles. Let's explore how this project is enhancing the experience for both constituents and decal fulfillers across the state.

The Challenge

Previously, Wyoming's Trails Program relied on manual workflows to administer decals after their existing digital platform was retired. This outdated process created significant inconveniences:

  • Constituents had to physically visit a Trails Program Office or Selling Agent location to purchase decals.

  • There was no centralized system for tracking or managing orders.

  • Customers lacked online access to their decal purchase history.

  • Trails Staff had limited visibility into the repository of purchased decals.

The Solution: WYOTrails Portal

Recognizing the need for improvement, the Trails Program partnered with Servos to develop a centralized digital system. The result? The WYOTrails Portal - a comprehensive solution that streamlines the entire decal purchase and fulfillment process.

Key features of the new system include:

  • Online Purchasing: Constituents can now buy decals from the comfort of their homes.

  • Order Tracking: Both customers and fulfillers can easily monitor the status of decal orders.

  • Centralized Management: Decal fulfillers have access to all relevant information in one place.

  • In-Store Integration: Selling Agents can process purchases and provide customers with trackable case IDs.

  • Improved Accounting: The Trails Program can now access detailed transaction information and associated fees.

A Swift Implementation

Servos completed the project in just 4 months, from initial discovery to Go Live. The timeline showcases the efficiency of the development process:

- March 26th: Project kickoff and discovery sessions began

- April 15th: First sprint commenced

- May 24th: Third sprint completed, transitioning to UAT

- July 25th: Go Live

Looking Ahead

The WYOTrails Portal represents a significant step forward in modernizing Wyoming's outdoor recreation management. By embracing digital innovation, the State of Wyoming's Trails Program has not only improved operational efficiency but also enhanced the overall experience for outdoor enthusiasts across the state.

As more users engage with the new system, we anticipate continued improvements and potentially expanded features to further support Wyoming's thriving outdoor community.
